Judging Process and Criteria
Angie Sung, Head of Human Resources of CLPe Solutions Ltd
Angie is an all-rounded HR leader with more than 20 years of experience working in sizable and multi-national organisations in Hong Kong and Australia.
Expertise in Business Partnering, HR Strategies, Organization & Leadership Development, Talent & Graduate Programs, Succession Planning and Change Management. Currently taking the role as the Head of HR of CLPe overseeing the whole HR and Business Support functions in Hong Kong and Mainland China, reporting to the Managing Director of CLPe. At the same time, being an Executive Committee member to involve in key decision making and drive business growth. Angie has a Master degree in HR Management and Executive Certificate in Sustainability. She is also an accredited coach and certified trainer.
Brian Wong, Chief People and Culture Officer of Hong Kong Productivity Council
Brian is a well-rounded HR business partner with experience in overseeing centres of excellence and spearheading talent management, compensation, and organisation-wide initiatives in large multinational organisations such as BASF, Avery Dennison, and Disneyland.
He has over 20 years’ experience in HR across multiple industries (such as financial services, professional services, chemicals, supply chain sourcing and tourism), and has taken on a full spectrum of local, regional, and global roles in Hong Kong. Armed with these experiences, he is culturally adept and has a good understanding of working with people from diversified backgrounds and nationalities. He has also been involved on global and local initiatives through devising and implementing localised strategies, including employee engagement and retention strategies.
Lancy Chui, Senior Vice President of ManpowerGroup Greater China
Having joined ManpowerGroup in 1997, Lancy is currently Senior Vice President of ManpowerGroup Greater China Limited (Stock code: 2180), where she has been strongly instrumental in building up operations framed around a regional initiative geared towards developing common business strategies and synergies for Greater China (Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan and Mainland China).
As a recognized expert in human resources, Lancy is regularly featured in newspapers and on television and radio as spokesperson for ManpowerGroup in regard to the ManpowerGroup Employment Outlook Survey and the dynamics of her relevant markets. She is awarded GBA Outstanding Women Entrepreneur Award 2021 and Asian Female Business Leader Award 2017, GBA Time Person of the Year 2024 and in addition, she has led ManpowerGroup Greater China to numerous awards.
Maisy Wong, General Manager – Human Resources & General Administration of Chevalier International Holdings Limited
Maisy is currently the General Manager of both Human Resources Department and General Administration Department of Chevalier Group, a diversified global conglomerate with over 8,000 full time employees worldwide. Maisy is a seasoned professional with over 20 years of experience in HR field. Her extensive knowledge and business acumen span across many industries such as construction and engineering, property investment, property management, etc.
In addition to overseeing the daily HR operations of Chevalier Group, Maisy plays a crucial role in formulating HR strategies and policies related to talent acquisition, compensation and benefits, learning and development, staff engagement, etc. She collaborates closely with the management of various business units of the Group and provides strategic HR advisory services to drive organizational success.
Paul Hotchan, Head of Talent Acquisition of The Hong Kong Jockey Club
Paul is a highly skilled professional with over 20 years’ experience in global talent acquisition, workforce planning, and HR management. As the Head of Talent Acquisition at The Hong Kong Jockey Club (HKJC), he leads a team of 40 and oversees executive search, recruitment, contingent workforce resourcing, onboarding and early career programs for the Club.
Prior to joining HKJC, Paul served as the Vice President of Recruitment at Galaxy Entertainment Group. Paul’s career has been characterized by a diverse background across different industries and countries, enabling him to bring a unique perspective to his work. He has a proven track record of training and mentoring high-performing teams, and his expertise lies in developing and implementing innovative processes, driving good governance, and leveraging data-driven insights to optimize business functions and achieve desired outcomes.
Ruby Lam, Head (Career Center), Dean of Students Office of The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology
Ruby is currently the Head of Career Center in the Dean of Students Office at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. At HKUST Career Center, she leads a team of 19 career professionals in providing world-class career services and supporting more than 20,000 undergraduate and postgraduate students across multiple academic disciplines.
She oversees graduate recruitment, the bi-annual job fairs, graduate employment survey, career advising programs, and career development programs. She also coaches many HKUST students on their graduate school applications and administers various internship schemes and programs in Hong Kong, Greater China and across the APAC region. In previous roles at HKUST, she was involved with the MBA program, and taught career related courses to undergraduates and postgraduates from all disciplines.
Before joining the education sector, Ruby worked in management positions at Cathay Pacific Airways, the Boeing Company, Capital One and Monitor Deloitte, both in Hong Kong and USA. Ruby holds graduate degrees in management and engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Stanford University and an undergraduate degree in engineering from Northwestern University.
Steven Yong, General Manager, Human Resources of Swire Properties
Born and raised in Malaysia, Steven studied and worked in New Zealand before moving to Hong Kong, where he has lived for over a decade. He recently joined Swire Properties as General Manager, Human Resources, overseeing the Human Resources and Administration functions in Hong Kong.
Prior to Swire Properties, Steven spent 14 years at Cathay Pacific, where he held various positions in IT Portfolio Management, Project and Programme Management, Digital Employee Experience, Insights and Data Governance, as well as People Business Partnering and Talent Management.
Alan Cheung MH, Founder & Managing Director of Grandion Group & President Honoris Causa of Hong Kong Young Industrialists Council [for HR Visionary Of The Year]
Alan graduated from the University of Hong Kong & founded the Grandion Industrial Ltd. (a member of Grandion Group) in 1996. In 2011, Alan were awarded as the Young Industrialists of Hong Kong & he is recognized for successfully integrating business innovation with social responsibility. His transformative TML (To Make Locally) project marks a significant shift in smart manufacturing, while his leadership in elderly care via an impact investment on Longevity Group underscores a deep commitment to societal welfare
The operating purposes of the TML and Longevity Group is to generate economic value whilst at the same time creating value for society by achieving a sustainable & diversified development of Hong Kong enterprises. Alan is appointed as the advisory board or vetting committee Chairman or member in various Government Bureaus & Organisations in providing advices on Economic & trade development, Innovation & Technology, Vocational & Professional Education Training (VPET), Start-ups incubation, Social Innovation and Design Thinking. Since 2018, he has been leading the company as an Impact Ventures Builder to co-create different purpose ventures with entrepreneurs which leverage social innovations to improve & tackle the social & industrial pain points.
Bill Lee, Managing Director, Hong Kong of Jobsdb by SEEK [for HR Visionary Of The Year]
Bringing with him deep industry experience in both tech and logistics, Bill Lee joined Jobsdb by SEEK as Managing Director, Hong Kong in 2021. He leads the company’s sales, operations and strategic development.
Previously he was the Director of New Verticals at Foodpanda, developing the “quick commerce” model in Hong Kong from the ground up. In addition to his time at Foodpanda, he also led multiple businesses in e-commerce, delivery and logistics. Bill holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering from Multimedia University in Malaysia, and is an avid debater.
Brian Cheng, Director (Business), CLAP@JC & Chief Executive Officer of Generation Hong Kong [for HR Visionary Of The Year]
Brian is the Chief Executive Officer of Generation Hong Kong, which is a part of the global independent non-profit organization founded by McKinsey & Company. Since its launch in early 2018, Brian has been leading Generation Hong Kong which aims at transforming the education-to-employment system to prepare, place, and support people into life-changing careers that would otherwise be inaccessible, and to solve the talent mismatch and the future talent needs in Hong Kong.
Brian is passionate about supporting the youth and community in various capacities. Currently, Brian serves as a council member of the Hong Kong Productivity Council, a member of the Advisory Committee on Gifted Education under The Education Bureau, a member of the Advisory Committee of Diploma of Applied Education, and a member of the Honorary Advisory Committee of Enactus Hong Kong. Brian has also supported various social innovation competitions as a judge, mentor and advisor.
Prior to joining Generation, Brian had been in the higher education sector over the past decade, leading the Asia operation of The University of Chicago Booth School of Business and the administrative functions of The Hong Kong Institute of Technology. Brian holds a B.A. and a M.B.A. from The Chinese University of Hong Kong, and an Executive M.B.A. from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
Winnie Ying, Head of Charities (Youth Development & Poverty Alleviation; and Talent & Sector Development) of The Hong Kong Jockey Club [for HR Visionary Of The Year]
Winnie is a seasoned leader with 30 years of experience in the non-profit and philanthropic sectors. Currently at the HKJC Charities Trust, she has initiated innovative programs that address key social issues through evidence-based interventions, one of the focuses being career and life development (CLD) for young people and underprivileged families.
Impact initiatives include CLAP@JC, which connects business professionals as Enterprise Advisors to support the CLD of students and non-engaged youth while providing access to valuable networks. JC PROcruit C provides a structured new traineeship model, creating new job roles and pathways to help graduates transition into the workplace and ensure their career readiness. Additionally, JC Project LIFT establishes the Jockey Club Level-up Empowerment Employment Centre, where HR professionals assist underprivileged families in identifying strengths, upskilling, and exploring new career opportunities to improve their prospects.
Winnie began her career as a frontline social worker. Before joining HKJC, she served as the Secretary General of the Community Investment and Inclusion Fund (CIIF) under the HKSAR Government, where she played a key role in strategic planning, public fund allocation, and community programs to build social capital.
