This Award recognizes the most creative and effective approach in sourcing for candidates through identifying, attracting, assessing and selecting the right candidates, in response to the changes in organizational talent needs and external market conditions.

This Award recognizes organizations who have adopted digital technology to change operational HR and business processes to become automated and data driven. It helps improve communication, collaboration, and access to data analytics of a diverse workforce.

This Award recognizes organizations that adopt innovative and/or tech-driven HR initiatives to provide solutions to problems or challenges faced, and how it was communicated to the workplace for effective implementation with positive impact.

"People"

This Award recognizes organizations that have adopted a holistic approach to employee engagement and demonstrated agility in fulfilling the changing needs of their employees at all levels as well as ensuring alignment with wider business objectives.

This Award recognizes outstanding training and development initiatives, programs &/or strategies that have been implemented by an organization to develop its current talents and to effectively equip them to achieve the organization’s strategic objectives.

This Award recognizes organizations’ initiatives to build a coaching and mentoring culture; bringing out the best in their people around and drive development, retention and efficiency in the workforce through effective coaching and mentoring strategies.

This Award recognizes organizations that have implemented employee-centric initiatives to improve their employees’ working experience, to motivate performance by connecting individuals career goals with company goals.

"Recruitment"

This award recognizes excellence in design and implementation of effective engagement programs with young job seekers and future talent.

This Award recognizes the best candidate’s attraction campaign that has demonstrated excellence and innovation in terms of design, execution and hiring impact.

This Award recognizes the creativity and effectiveness in formulating and delivering a graduate trainee recruitment campaign that has helped the company achieve its business objectives.

"Place"

This award recognizes outstanding strategies and initiatives that promote and embed well-being of the workforce, achieving higher level employee happiness and fulfillment and practicing work safe behavior in their workplace that has impacted the overall business performance.

This Award recognizes organizations who have created a safe, flexible, collaborative and empowering hybrid workplace that accommodates both the employee, employer and maintains the company culture.

"Recruitment Firm"

This award recognizes recruitment firms (company size >= 15 people) with creativity, effectiveness, market insight and innovation in providing outstanding service to clients.

"Team & Individual"

This award recognizes HR teams has successfully implemented a new project, innovation, strategy or initiative not more than twelve calendar months ago that contributed to the growth of the company.

This award recognizes HR individuals who have improved HR practices with innovative ideas. It aims to position the HR function as an effective strategic business partner that contributes to the success and achievement of the organization’s business strategy and goals.

"Special Award"

This award recognizes the best employers in Hong Kong. The winners will be 100% determined by a unique blending of the votes of employees and the general public. Nominees in this category are composed of the finalists from all the award categories.

Judging Process and Criteria

Dr. Aaron Chiang ⁠Head of HR & Admin ⁠Hong Yip Service Company Limited

"If you give a hungry man a fish, you feed him for a day, but if you teach him how to fish, you feed him for a lifetime."

Dr. Aaron Chiang is currently the Head of Human Resources and Administration of Hong Yip Service Company Limited, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of Sun Hung Kai Properties Limited. Established in 1967, Hong Yip is a leading company in property and facilities management in Hong Kong.

Dr. Chiang has many years of experience in human resources and administration gained from various organizations in both the public and private sectors in Hong Kong. He holds a degree in Doctor of Business Administration from the University of Newcastle, Australia and LLM in Arbitration and Dispute Resolution from The University of Hong Kong. He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants and a fellow of the Hong Kong Institute of Arbitrators. He is the incumbent President of the Hong Kong People Management Association and the Advisory Committee Member of the Business Discipline of the Vocational Training Council.

Ms. Eliza Ng ⁠Chief People and Culture Officer ⁠Hong Kong Productivity Council

"Equipping and empowering employees to thrive in a disruptive VUCA world"

Eliza is currently the Chief People and Culture Officer at Hong Kong Productivity Council. She holds a Master Degree in Human Resources Development and Training with over 28 years all-round HR experience as Senior HR Executive in US Fortune 500 Listed Company, Investment Banking and Hong Kong Listed IT Company.

Eliza also serves as a member of the Hong Kong Management Association’s (HKMA) People Development Management Committee since 2011; a Board of Examiner of HKMA Award for Excellence in Training and Development since 2012; Executive Committee of the Chamber’s Women Executives Club of The Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce (HKGCC) since 2014; Manpower Committee of HKGCC since 2017; Examination Moderator (honorary) for the Certification & Diploma Programmes in HR Management courses of the Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) since 2018.

In appreciation of her outstanding vision and leadership, she garnered the “The Most Popular Business Leaders of the month” from Asia CEO Community in September 2020 and “Best of the Best HR STAR of the Year” granted by one of the HK media in October 2020.

Mr. Ernest Cheung ⁠Director of Career Development & Training (TPG) ⁠HKU Business School

"From Task-driven to People Centric – A Rethink & Repositioning of Impactful Human Capital Strategy in the Digital Era"

Mr. Ernest Cheung is currently Director of Career Development and Training (TPG) team of HKU Business School and is primarily responsible for managing full L&D cycle, employer branding events, and leading the career team to work closely with community and corporate partners, both local and in the region, for all forms of collaboration, particularly in terms of knowledge sharing and talent acquisition. Prior to joining HKU, Ernest held various team management roles in financial institutions.

Ms. Janet Poon ⁠Deputy Director (Head of Group HR & Administration) ⁠Hang Lung Properties Limited

"Let’s create a better workplace – for the business and for the people"

Ms. Janet Poon joined Hang Lung Properties Limited in 2012. She is currently the Deputy Director (Head of Group HR & Administration) in Hang Lung and responsible for leading and overseeing the Group’s Human Resources and Administration functions in both Hong Kong and Mainland.

Janet has tremendous Human Resources experience especially in business partnering, people engagement initiatives, diversity, and talent development as well as building and strengthening corporate culture. Having made genuine effort in driving various HR initiatives, Hang Lung is named as Employer of the Year in the Hong Kong HR Awards 2021/2022 and clinched the title of Employer of Choice in the Employer of Choice Award 2021. She graduated from University of Leicester with a Master degree of Training & Human Resources Management, and also holds a Business Administration degree from The Chinese University of Hong Kong.

Ms. Lancy Chui ⁠Senior Vice President ⁠ManpowerGroup Greater China

"Now is the time—to put people first, create and grow sustainable jobs, identify and develop skills for today and tomorrow."

Ms. Lancy Chui joined ManpowerGroup in 1997. She is currently Senior Vice President of ManpowerGroup Greater China Limited (Stock code: 2180), where she has been strongly instrumental in building up operations framed around a regional initiative geared towards developing common business strategies and synergies for Greater China (Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan and Mainland China).

As a recognized expert in human resources, Lancy is regularly featured in newspapers and on television and radio as spokesperson for ManpowerGroup in regard to the ManpowerGroup Employment Outlook Survey and the dynamics of her relevant markets. She is awarded GBA Outstanding Women Entrepreneur Award 2021 and Asian Female Business Leader Award 2017 and in addition, she has led ManpowerGroup Greater China to numerous awards.

Mr. Andy Luk ⁠Vice President – HR and Corporate Communications, Asia ⁠Informa Markets

"You have 2 choices: Shape it up or being shake up!"

Andy is responsible for HR and Corporate Communications across Asia. Andy holds a Bachelor of Social Sciences from the University of Hong Kong. With over 25 years’ experience in the Human Resources industry, Andy has worked with a number of well-known organizations, including the world biggest consumer products company, Procter & Gamble as well as a reputable public utility company China Light & Power in HK.

Andy has extensive working experience in different business units, diverse workforce in Hong Kong, China and Asia. Andy is also very active in contributing to the HR professional community in the region. He is the Executive Council Member of the Hong Kong Institute of Human Resources Management and was the Co-Chairman of the 2016 Annual Conference, Chairperson of the 2019/20 HR Excellence Award and the Chairperson of the HR Journal Editorial Taskforce. Andy is now studying the EMBA at the Kellogg-HKUST Business School and personally, he loves running and reading.

Ms. Tina Au-Yeung ⁠Group Chief Human Resources Officer ⁠Emperor Group

"Ever tried. Ever failed. No matter. ⁠Try again. Fail again. Fail better."

Ms. Tina Au-Yeung is the Group Chief Human Resources Officer of Emperor Group, a local conglomerate with eight different businesses and 6 individually listed companies. Ms. Au-Yeung had spearheaded the organizational development, leadership development and long-range human capital planning initiatives in her career. Ms. Au-Yeung holds a Master and a Doctoral Degree in Business Administration.

Stage 1/ Nomination Nominate organizations and individuals to recognize their excellence in people strategies by submitting one or more nominations via the online portal.

29 December 2021

Stage 2/ SubmissionAll nominated parties will be required to provide an online submission that demonstrates how they fulfil the criteria.

17 - 28 January 2022

Stage 3/ Scoring A panel of judges comprising of HR directors and industry leaders will review the submissions and provide a score.

In parallel, 30% will be determined by the votes of the general public.

7 February 2022

Stage 4/ Result Announcement The results will be announced by early February 2022.

Mid-March 2022 (TBC)

Stage 5/ Awards Ceremony The winners will be announced and celebrated at the award ceremony.

Late March – early April 202

Stage 6/ Post-event Highlights Through-the-line publicity plan will be carried out in order to maximize the public awareness.
